The Drifter

"He looked upon life as a sort of a joke.
He didn't want money, but he never was broke.
But when things got in earnest he shore could talk sense,
And he could shoe hosses, mend wagons and fence."
- The Drifter by Bruce Kiskaddon

One Year Ago

One year ago I was learning how to be a surgical assistant. These are some images taken during surgery lab.
Top left: opening the sterile scalpel blade and giving it to the sterile assistant (gloved hands)
Top right: the surgical pack, topped by towel clamps, gauze, and huck towels.
Bottom left: Surgery booties to keep dirt and hair from being tracked into the OR.
Bottom right: the many surgical instruments laid out according to use.

This Old Shack

In the field next to us lives an old two-room shack. It still retains three outer walls, but the fourth side is bare and open. The paint has long since left it's rotting boards and vines are content to climb up the walls to peak through the windows.

Peeling Paint

An old building near our apartment. I took a walk recently to create a sort of 'photographic tour' of ou neighborhood. Stay tuned for more images of the Fort George Wright area!

Workin' on the Railroad

"I've been working on the railroad
All the live-long day.
I've been working on the railroad
Just to pass the time away.
Don't you hear the whistle blowing,
Rise up so early in the morn;
Don't you hear the captain shouting,
"Dinah, blow your horn!"

Mocha: Weimeraner Cross

"Often referred to as the "grey ghost" because of the distinctive color of its short, sleek coat, the Weimaraner is a graceful dog with aristocratic features. Bred for speed, good scenting ability, courage and intelligence, he remains an excellent game hunter and active participant in other dog sports." ~ AKC on Weimeraners
