One Year Ago

One year ago I was learning how to be a surgical assistant. These are some images taken during surgery lab.
Top left: opening the sterile scalpel blade and giving it to the sterile assistant (gloved hands)
Top right: the surgical pack, topped by towel clamps, gauze, and huck towels.
Bottom left: Surgery booties to keep dirt and hair from being tracked into the OR.
Bottom right: the many surgical instruments laid out according to use.

Cat Grooming

Brush: check
Flea comb: check
Nail clippers: check
Otoscope: check

Look's like we're all ready to toss the cat in the tub!

Equipment Table

Here is the Sterile Assistant organizing her equipment for a feline ovariohysterectomy. All the instruments are sterilized beforehand, as well as all of the assistant's outer garb.
